My first craft project-a yarn octopus!

I was so excited when I found this vintage pattern. It was my first craft project. It started me down that road of yarn coveting. My stash has been growing ever since!

This pattern is now available in PDF format in my ETSY store.

It would be a great summer project for a girl or boy.

Simple Knitting for HOT DAYS

Wow...it is just hitting 90 degrees here in VA before 8 AM and no end in sight to the hot weather. Even when it is very hot, I keep knitting....just not with wool or anything itchy. Currently, I am working on deciphering some English Victorian knitting patterns. That should keep me busy for a while.

In the mean time, I also like 'no brainer' knitting projects. Here is a very nice looking variation on the slotted scarf.

This free pattern is from Berroco and is available here.

PS- Jane Austen Knits Summer 2012 is on sale at Knitpicks.com for 8.99

That's 40% off!

Stay safe and cool.

Have you heard of chair socks?

I am ashamed of myself for not thinking of this myself! I have beautiful hardwood floors that I am always squawking about--don't drag that chair on the floor! Well check out these great ideas for chair socks. I can't wait to make some up. What a great way to use up scraps of yarn...and do I have some scraps!

I love collecting various knitted lace designs but what can you do with them? Well, for easy summer knitting, how about making sampler dishcloths? Start a stash of dishcloths to give away as gifts or to sell at a fund raiser at work.

From Classic Elite STITCH RED program to raise awareness about #1 killer in women:

What is the #1 killer each year of women in the US?
