My mom had hip replacement surgery, so I have been busy helping my folks. The weather in Virginia has been very freaky with lovely warm sunny days then snow and freezing rain the next. Argh...
Well, today is back to sun and warm and I was able to do a little digging at a local 'junque' shop. I found this great article in an old magazine from 1924. It provides instructions to sew 10 great Flapper style dresses. They are very elegant looking and would be great for a wedding!
The PDF instructions are available from my shop on ETSY.
I hope you are having a great weekend! Debby

New on ETSY-Digital image for your computer desktop
I love this image from a Regency era print of two ladies winding balls of yarn. I have cleaned up the image and created a digital file that you can use for a computer desktop or screensaver. Just something different for a change...
This digital image is available from my store on ETSY. I can also provide instructions on how to set up an image as a desktop or screen saver.
Thanks, Debby

New on ETSY-Great little bolero pattern 1953 and sale code
There are 12 patterns in this pattern book from 1953 (knitted, crocheted and hairpin lace items) but I have set up some of the cutest items as separate patterns.
...like this great little bolero pattern. I need to make one of these. Wouldn't it look lovely for winter bride?

New on ETSY-Easy to knit shrug pattern
Here is a great summer project for beginning knitters.
This is a simple shrug or shoulderette from the 1950s knit from cuff to cuff with 4 oz of worsted weight yarn and size 8 (US) needles.
I have got to make one of these to go over a sundress!

New on ETSY-Vintage knitted lace sweater EASY summer knitting
Just posted last night, the EASY TO KNIT Lace Sweater will be a great summer knitting project. This sweater calls for 8 oz of worsted wt yarn and size 13 (US) needles so it should knit up fast. Knitted in a nice cotton blend yarn, this would look great over a sun dress or sleeveless shell. Gloves are optional! I am going to start one this week.

Historic Knitting in Britain
The Victoria and Albert Museum has very interesting articles and pictures of regional knitting history in Britain.
There are vintage patterns too! I had a hard time finding the actual patterns until I found this page.. You can click through the images and a link will appear next to each with a WORD and PDF version. Take your time going through the images...there are some GREAT patterns here. Enjoy your "trip" to London.

Fashion Plate from 1837
Just for fun, I thought I would post this image from 1837. I have been working on some of these for a new set of screensavers and note cards. What beautiful dresses and hats!
Happy Friday.
