A great idea to use all those less than pretty buttons...
I have lots of buttons and not all of them are very pretty but I CAN'T throw them out. Well thanks to Pinterest, I found something I can make with them.
Check out this post on craftstylish for this great idea!

Hot weather crafting-free patterns using cotton yarn!
I love to knit and crochet, even in the heat of summer so I switch gears from wool to cotton. I also tend to stick with smaller projects. How about you?
Here are four patterns to keep you going during the heat. They all feature Lily Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn. If you don't already have a membership with Lily, it takes just a moment set it up. Then you can download or bookmark the patterns on their site.

Happy Friday-2 free Victorian knitting patterns from 1892
Here are two knitting patterns from magazine clippings that date from 1892.
The first one is for a pretty knitted lace edging.
The second is for an early version of a round potholder.
Hope you have a happy and safe weekend. The colors are beautiful here in Virginia. I will be taking lots of photos this weekend!

New on ETSY-Sunflower Hot Plate Mat made with bottle caps
I just added a new vintage pattern on ETSY. It is a reproduction of a crochet pattern to cover bottle caps to create a lovely hot plate mat that looks like a sunflower. These mats are iconic and are a MUST for a RETRO KITCHEN.
